5 Design firms that inspire us and push our designs to the next level

“Everything is a remix”

This is one of the very first things that I was taught when I started studying Graphic Design at the Academy of Art University. Some of the best and most iconic designs were archetypes of famous paintings or earlier designs. It is normal for designers to draw inspiration from their peers or idols. This is what helps us create good design.

The agencies that I listed below are the sites I turn to when I’m in need of a little inspiration.

1. Landor (landor.com) is a branding agency that transforms brands and not only focuses on the look of the company, but also it’s impact of the world and the sustainable future.
2. Stranger & Stranger (strangerandstranger.com) is one of the most popular design and packaging firms in the world. Their intricate illustrations and material use creates such a unique look and feel that sets brands apart from all the rest.
3. Pearlfisher (pearlfisher.com) strives to be a companies final redesign. They design long-lasting brand identities that can stay durable.
4. Sagmeister & Walsh (sagmeisterwalsh.com) has a very interesting look and feel to their agency that inspires me to create design that one doesn’t see everyday. Both their agency and their designs stand out.
5. Ethera Creative (etheracreative.com) is a San Francisco based company that specializes in all aspects of design, from branding to UI/UX design, and motion graphics. Their design style is clean and modern.

Along with these 5, there are so many more design firms out there that I recommend every designer takes a look at before starting their next project.
